When I first came to Sarıkamış in the early 2000s, I wasn’t planning to build a hotel. I had spent most of my life working in finance, and after retiring as a CFO, I simply wanted to enjoy the beauty of nature. But something about this region captivated me deeply — the snow-covered pine forests, the quiet charm of the mountains — and I knew this was where I wanted to invest my next chapter…
That’s how Habitat Otel was born. From the very beginning, my goal was to create a place where guests could truly relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the slopes just steps from their door. Today, I’m proud to say that Habitat has become a luxury ski-out retreat — warm, welcoming, and filled with character.
Our hotel features:
- An indoor pool and sauna and massage to unwind after a long day on the piste
- A restaurant run by passionate chefs who care deeply about their craft
- Walls adorned with paintings by well-known artists who regularly visit us for inspiration
- Running Habitat is a family effort — my wife and daughter, who is an architect, are both deeply involved in keeping everything running smoothly and beautifully.

I was born and raised right here in Sarıkamış — these mountains are my childhood playground, and the snow is something I’ve grown up with and learned to appreciate every single season. The snow here is unlike anywhere else in Türkiye — fine, dry, and powdery, thanks to our altitude and unique climate. Combine that with the peaceful pine forests, fresh mountain air, and wide-open views, and you’ll understand why Sarıkamış is such a special place in winter. I founded Snow Flake Hotel to share this beauty with the world — and to offer guests a stay filled with comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality. Over the years, we’ve grown into a 4-star ski-out hotel, right by the slopes, where you can start your ski day the moment you step outside.

A SERENE ENVIRONMENT
Rising 2,200–2,900 m above sea level, this resort is beautifully nestled in pristine Scots Pine forests, where ideal alpine conditions meet peaceful, uncrowded pistes, naturally sheltered from wind and avalanche risk.
EXCEPTIONAL CRYSTAL SNOW
From 10 December to 10 April, the resort is blanketed in its famed “crystal snow” —a light, dry powder reminiscent of the Alps— building 100–120 cm of pristine depth and delivering consistently superb skiing conditions all season long.
PISTE VARIETY FOR ALL LEVELS
Multiple pistes ranging from beginner-friendly slopes to challenging advanced runs are available across three separate lift-served stages:
- 1st stage: Gentle runs with training areas
- 2nd stage: Blue, red, and black runs, including a snow park
- 3rd stage (Karanlıkdere): Advanced-level pistes
DIVERSE DISCIPLINES
The center accommodates alpine skiing, Nordic skiing (including “ski safari” and sled tours), snowboard (partially), slalom, giant slalom, and super-G events.
